About us - Who are we?
All our RC Hovercraft and related products are exclusive to HOVERCRAFTmodels.com and are manufactured in the USA at our own facility. We have a dedicated team who design, develop and manufacture large scale RC Hovercraft and related products for the RC Hobby industry. Our design team, is headed by Kevin Jackson who is an author of Hovercraft technical books and a leading authority on RC Hovercraft design. If your new to RC Hovercraft or have tried a toy Hovercraft and want to step up to the real thing you have come to the right place! Model Hovercraft is a fast developing part of the RC hobby and we are the largest in-house design and manufacturer of these craft in the world. Chances are if you have already seen a radio control hovercraft at your local park, on the beach or at a lake its one of ours! So come on in and take a look at our wide range of model hovercraft. Our models are great ways to get started in this hobby or to help with you science project.
Our History
In 1994 Kevin Jackson, founder of Hovercraftmodels.com and author of 'Discover the Hovercraft' and 'Introduction to RC Hovercarft' built and demonstrated a semi-scale model of the first working Hovercraft the SRN1. The model was the result of extensive research and very generous help from the members of the Hovercraft Museum in the UK. The model was shown at a few events and gained a lot of interest and inquiries from other model builders who wanted access to drawings and other information. To make information available to wider audience Kevin built the Model Hovercraft Homepage on the then sparsely populated world wide web. It was just a few pages with photos and details it was amongst only 2 other dedicated Hovercraft Model Pages on the web at that time.
	As details became available of new models these were also put on the same web site but soon there was so much information the pages just ran out of room. At the same time the requests for plans to build these Hovercraft models grew at a huge rate. In order to serve these request better it was decided to make detailed plans available on a dedicated site, for this extensive space was needed and of course an appropriate name. HOVERCRAFTmodels.com was born. HOVERCRAFTmodels.com continues to grow daily. The plans both on the site and available on a CD-ROM have been built all over the world and photos of many peoples own versions of these models pour in daily. Our parts section offers those hard to find items that every Hovercraft model needs to get hovering. Our RC Model Hovercraft kit range continues to expand with a focus of high performance models for every level of constructor. We offer the very latest in technology to provide detailed manuals on CD-ROM. Our use of CD-ROM technology allows us to step every constructor through the building process with confidence using text ,drawings, high resolution photos and video clips.

Today Hovercraftmodels.com has grown to become the largest supplier of model hovercraft kits parts and plans in the world. We have supplied model hovercraft to over 40 countries. Hovercraftmodels.com has put powerful RC Hovercraft on a local lakes and parking lots the world over! Universities, schools and colleges use our model hovercraft for a variety of educational applications as well. Our design, test and manufacture operation produces a wide range of parts and craft not only for our own use but we now also manufacture model hovercraft on behalf of a number of other suppliers.
